“Heat Exchange” on Utsira
Welcome to a unique chance to experience the island of Utsira and meet artists Loni Johnson and misael soto from Miami, USA!
The artists have been staying on Utsira all week as part of “Heat Exchange”, a reciprocal artist residency programme developed by Bas Fisher Invitational (BFI) in Miami and Rogaland Kunstsenter (RKS) in Stavanger.
The artists, together with BFI director and artist Naomi Fisher, will share images and talk about their own artistic practice, and how they use art to strengthen community development and social change.
There will be a screening of films created by Reverend Houston R. Cypress of the Otter Clan of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida. Cypress will introduce the films over Zoom and take questions afterwards. The films are in English and the Miccosukee language.
After the talks there will be a reception with snacks and drinks, offering an opportunity for further conversation with the artists.
