At Rom For in Haugesund!
In conjunction with Haugaland Pride, The Art Scene, in collaboration with Rogaland Kunstsenter, presents Luringen! Luringen is an art project that turns up in various guises around the world. It takes its starting point in the Norse god Loki, who could change shape and gender to achieve different ends. Many people draw on this god’s transformative powers to this day, and at Rom For you will encounter different approaches to this through performances and an exhibition.
Herman Mbamba, Charlotte Tarantino and Jone Tou are behind this year’s programme, which celebrates the first pride parade in Haugesund. With a look back at artists who have played with their identity or shifted shape to fit in — or stand out — you get a project that is both serious and playful.
Luringen was first shown in Bogotá, Colombia, during the KUIR festival. There, Luringen presented works by A.R.M., Melanie Bonajo, Christophe Hamaide Pierson, Trygve Luktvasslimo and Tori Wrånes, organised by Geir Haraldseth and Stina Högkvist. The next edition comes to Stavanger!
