Héloïse Delègue (b.1985) Héloïse Delègue is a French artist currently based in Paris. Her work can be likened to a chronicler's research through voyeurism. She combines painting, drawing, text, collage and textiles, often assembled into installations. Her work is a visual diary of the present. She employs witty pop-up associations that touch on emotion and nostalgia, but at times also fear and anger. She is interested in universal human themes: identity, gender, power structures, relationships and sexuality. She holds an MFA from Goldsmiths College (2018) and a Bachelor's degree in Art from Sorbonne University (2013). She has presented works in London, Freiburg, Luxembourg, Hangzhou, Rio de Janeiro, Gothenburg and Paris. Selected solo exhibitions include Spooning sucks at Galerie für Gegenwartkunst, Scopophilia at Deptford X Gallery, Unreal Estates and Delightful disappointments at Goldsmiths College, and Body at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery. www.heloisedelegue.net
Edvine Larssen (b. 1977) Edvine Larssen's practice is exclusively site-bound. Her architectural and/or performative installations merge the material and the conceptual in encounters with place, time and space. Larssen's works call for both movement and sensory experience, in pieces she defines as Passage Works – works in a constant state of becoming. From October 2020, Edvine Larssen is appointed professor of contemporary art at the Art Academy in Tromsø. She holds a PhD from the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme (PKU) through the Art Academy at NTNU in 2018. She also trained at Kingston University in London and CCA Kitakyushu in Japan. Larssen has developed site-bound works for, among others, RAKE visningsrom in collaboration with Magasinet (Dagbladet), Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum, Trondheim International Performing Arts Festival, Tromsø Kunstforening, SALT and LevArt, to name a few. She also works with various forms of publications. www.edvinelarssen.com
More about Skaus
Skaus is a platform – at once host and occupant, a support structure that initiates meeting points between places, artists, institutions, social infrastructures and audiences. Skaus is initiated and developed by Håvard Sagen, Mari Kolbeinson and Markus Bråten.
In this pilot, Skaus is presented in parallel at Rogaland Kunstsenter and at a Ventetomt by TOU. Across several project phases, a series of artists and artist groups will work site-specifically and act independently in response to the structures and artistic conditions that have emerged in the space (RKS) and on the site (TOU).
By exploring new forms of collaboration and methods, the project challenges ideas connected to origin, authorship and reproducibility. The project is built on the idea of continuous change and takes the form of a nomadic exhibition, which after this pilot will move to new sites and take on new forms.
PROGRAMME:
Inauguration: 13.–16.02.
