Rogaland Kunstsenter is taking part in the Untitled fair in San Francisco in 2018. This year the fair has a Stavanger focus, and the art centre is participating alongside Prosjektrom Normanns, who have taken part in Untitled in Miami and San Francisco for several years, Kunsthall Stavanger and Contemporary Art Stavanger.
The art centre is showing three new works by Odd Sama, an artist who lives and works in Brusand. We presented new works by Sama in the exhibition KDW in 2017, and are proud to continue the collaboration with Sama and represent him at an international art fair. The three ceramic works extend Sama's interest in the relationship between nature and culture, with a humorous twist. The texture and colour of the ceramic works skirt the abject, which plays into Sama's critical approach. Ceramics is back in vogue, and we hope the international art scene will be as enthusiastic about Sama's sculptures as we are.
